Peace-Building Track

The Peace Building Track aims to promote peace and reconciliation in Syria through research, dialogue, and community engagement.

Activities and initiatives:

  • Conducting research on the root causes of the Syrian conflict
  • Facilitating dialogue between community leaders from different ethnic and religious backgrounds
  • Supporting local peace building initiatives

Research and Analysis: Conducting research on the root causes of the Syrian conflict and its impact on women and girls. This division will also analyze the existing peace building initiatives and their effectiveness in promoting women’s rights.

The following subjects will be focused on:

  • The impact of the Syrian conflict on women and girls: This research will examine the ways in which the conflict has affected women and girls, including issues such as displacement, violence, and economic insecurity.
  • The role of women in the Syrian peace process: This research will explore the ways in which women have been involved in the peace process, and the barriers that have prevented their more active participation.
  • The gendered dimensions of the Syrian conflict: This research will examine the ways in which gender shapes the experiences and outcomes of the conflict for women and men, including issues such as sexual violence, access to services, and political representation.
  • The effectiveness of existing peace building initiatives in promoting women’s roles: This research will analyze the existing peace building initiatives and their effectiveness in promoting women’s roles, and will provide recommendations for improvement.
  • The role of religion and culture in shaping the Syrian conflict: This research will explore the ways in which religion and culture have shaped the Syrian conflict and the peace process, including the ways in which they have been used to justify violence and discrimination against women and girls.
  • The experiences of Syrian women refugees and migrants: This research will examine the experiences of Syrian women refugees and migrants, including issues such as access to services, discrimination, and violence.

Dialogue and Community Engagement: Facilitating dialogue between different community leaders and stakeholders, including women’s groups, civil society organizations, and religious leaders. The division will also work to engage the community and raise awareness of the importance of women’s participation in peace building efforts.

Capacity Building and Empowerment: Providing training and capacity-building opportunities for women and girls in areas such as leadership, conflict resolution, and peace building. The division will also work to empower women and girls to participate in peace building initiatives at the local level.

Advocacy and Policy: Advocating for the inclusion of women in peace building efforts, and for promoting policies and legislation that support the rights and participation of women and girls in peace building.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring the progress of the peace building track program and evaluating its effectiveness. The division will also collect and analyze data to inform future program planning and implementation.

Networking and Partnership: Building and maintaining partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, institutions and individuals working on peace building and women’s rights.
